My 10-year-old water filter finally gave out on the Lost Coast Trail
It was the original Sawyer Squeeze I bought back in 2014, and it just clogged solid halfway through the 25-mile trek last month. I had to boil everything for two days, which really slowed us down and made me miss the simple convenience. Anyone have a reliable filter they've used for a similar long stretch?

Yeah, that's rough. I had my old filter fail on the JMT and switched to a Katadyn BeFree. The flow rate is way faster, and it screws right onto a Smartwater bottle. Like @noahhernandez said, ten years is great, but you don't want it to happen out there. The BeFree has been solid for me for three seasons now.
