My compass broke halfway through a hike, forcing me to pick between trusting my memory or using the sun. Which side are you on?
I was deep in the woods when my compass gave out. I debated relying on my recall of the map versus navigating by the sun's position. Curious how others would handle this.

How did your compass break on a hike? I've never heard of that happening before. Compasses are usually tough, so that's wild. To find your way, I'd use the sun every time. Memory can mess you up if you're tired or stressed. The sun might move, but it's a lot better than just guessing. Seriously, a broken compass? That's some bad luck.
