Drew this monstrosity at 2am after a bad breakup and it actually helped

I was going through a rough patch last month after my girlfriend left me, and I grabbed a random Sharpie and drew the ugliest dragon-thing on a napkin. It looked like a melted salamander with wings and one eye bigger than the other, but showing it to my buddy Mike at work the next day made us both crack up laughing. Has anyone else made something so bad it turned your mood around?

Nah, I gotta call you out on this one, Blair. That whole "just laugh it off" thing works for a minute, but it's not as deep as you're making it sound. Laughing at a dumb drawing didn't help me get over anything, it just distracted me for a bit. If you're really sitting with your feelings and drawing something ugly, that's actually processing stuff, not just goofing around. Why settle for a quick chuckle when you could actually work through the mess a little?

Always feels like people make everything into some big therapy breakthrough these days. It's just a dragon drawing on a napkin, not gonna fix your life. But you know what, I bought a cheap sketchbook once while waiting for my car to get detailed, drew a stick figure falling off a cliff, and it actually made me chuckle. Sometimes laughing at your own mess is better than sitting there stewing.
