I finally deleted my art app at 3am and went back to crayons, and the drawings got better
For 14 months I drew on my phone every night after midnight. I have around 600 saved files and every single one looks the same, smooth and flat and boring. Two weeks ago I got mad and dug out the box of crayons from my kid's closet and drew on the back of a pizza box instead. The wax clumps up and my lines are crooked but the cat I drew actually looks like a cat. I think the undo button was the problem the whole time, I kept erasing until nothing was left. Anybody else switch back to paper and notice their bad art stopped being boring? I want to know if it's just me or if the phone makes everyone draw the same way.
