PSA: staying up till 3am to draw makes your hands forget how hands work
Last night I was drawing a guy sitting on a bench and his hands came out looking like two sad mittens stapled to his sleeves. I looked at the clock, it was 2:47am, and I had redrawn those same five fingers nine times. Turns out my brain just gives up on fingers after midnight because that is when I start drawing them as little hot dog shapes. So now I only sketch faces after 1am and save the hands for daytime. Anyone else got a body part that falls apart when you get tired?
Honestly staying up late is the best time to draw though, the house is quiet and nobody bugs you. Your hands just need practice at 3am, not a bedtime. Drawing hands tired is how you learn what your muscle memory actually knows without your brain getting in the way.
