Three times I drew a cat that looked like a potato before I realized my mistake

I keep seeing people post sketches where the eyes are way too far apart or the nose is just missing and I'm like come on. Last night I spent an hour on a cat drawing and it looked more like a squashed bean than anything alive. Anyone else notice how easy it is to mess up proportions when you're half asleep or is it just me?

That bean shape is a CLASSIC for bad cat drawings, it happens to everyone. The eyes being off is usually the biggest giveaway but even the body shape can go wrong if you aren't careful. Half asleep drawing is basically a lottery where you either nail it or end up with a potato with whiskers.
