DAE try to follow a trail map from a state park website and end up lost for 2 hours?
Last weekend I printed out the official trail map from the Hocking Hills website and it showed a direct loop that just didn't exist on the ground. I ended up bushwhacking through poison ivy because the map had trails crossing in places where there was nothing but creek beds. How do these parks get away with putting out maps that look like a kid drew them in MS Paint?

Man I saw a whole news report a few months back about how state parks just don't have the money to hire real cartographers anymore. They just hand the job to some intern who copies an old 1980s map that was already wrong. That poison ivy thing is no joke either, I got it BAD once from a similar situation and it took weeks to clear up. What really gets me is these maps show trails that haven't been maintained since the Clinton administration, like they just assume the creek will dry up or something. Next time I'm bringing a GPS and downloading the trail from AllTrails before I even leave the driveway, learned that lesson the hard way.
