Satellite view of my town shows the river on the wrong side of the highway
I was looking at Google Maps to plan a job site near the river last week, and the satellite imagery has the entire waterway shifted about 200 feet west of where it actually is. The main road through town crosses the river in real life but on the map it just dead ends into a field. How does a mapping error that big get past anyone reviewing it, and has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing causing real problems on the ground?

Heard a surveyor say off by 200 feet is a huge data glitch, @lindaw29.

oh man, that's really frustrating. I've had similar stuff happen with maps before and it's such a headache when you're trying to actually get somewhere. hope you can get them to fix it soon, that's a pretty big mistake.
