Showerthought: my buddy in Tulsa swore the map app was lying about a bridge, and he was right
Last Tuesday my buddy Dale and I were driving from Tulsa up to a lake near Claremore and he kept saying the map app had a bridge that got torn out back in 2019. I laughed at him because the app showed a nice straight line while his paper map from a gas station looked like a toddler drew it. We ended up following the app and drove 25 minutes down a dead end road where the bridge was just two concrete stumps sitting in the water. Dale pulled out his phone and showed me the app still routes people over that gap to this day. We lost about an hour total, but honestly the worst part was the app kept saying recalculating like it had no idea it sent us into a field. Then we found the same dead bridge listed on three other map apps, all wrong, all confident. Has anyone else found a ghost bridge or road that every map app still thinks exists?
