Spent $45 on a 'vintage' road map from 1978 and it was completely useless

I found this old map of Ohio on eBay and thought it would be a cool decor piece for my office. Got it in the mail yesterday and the seller didn't mention it was folded so badly that half the highways are cracked right through the lines. I tried to flatten it out with books but now there's a permanent crease right over Cincinnati. The gas station logos and old route numbers were kind of fun to look at for five minutes though. Not worth the money at all for something I can't even hang up. Anyone else buy a nostalgic map online and get totally ripped off?

People pay for nostalgia not function. Same with vinyl records.

My buddy Dave bought an old 1980s NYC subway map off Etsy and it showed the B line going somewhere it hasn't gone in 30 years. He tried to follow it on his phone for a laugh and ended up in Queens waiting for a train that didn't exist. @christopher_singh92 is right though, I guess people buy these things to frame them and feel something, not to actually navigate with.
