Stop trusting the blue dot on phone map apps when you're driving in Pittsburgh
I drove to a job interview in Pittsburgh last Tuesday and the map app put my blue dot on the wrong side of the Monongahela, so I ended up on a dead end street in Mt. Washington instead of the actual office. The app showed me sitting right on top of the building when I was actually across the river, which cost me 25 minutes and the interview. Turns out the GPS drift near tall bridges and tunnels there is real bad and the blue dot lies to you. If you're navigating that city, trust the street signs and the actual roads, not that little circle. Has anyone else gotten burned by a map app putting them on the wrong side of a river?
