The whole state is just a square? Found this map of Wyoming that makes it look like a giant postage stamp

Okay so I was looking up driving routes through Wyoming last week and stumbled onto this map from some tourism site that literally just shows the state as a perfect rectangle with one mountain drawn in the corner. No towns, no highways, just a big beige block labeled "Wyoming" with a tiny drawing of Jackson Hole. I get that it's probably meant to be simple but it's so lazy it's almost impressive. Has anyone else found a map that just completely phoned it in like this?

Oh man, I remember reading something about how Wyoming's actual shape is basically a rectangle but with a tiny dent in the bottom from the Colorado border survey being off a bit. Something about an old surveyor messing up the latitude line by like a mile or two. So I guess that tourism map isn't totally wrong because the state is almost a perfect box if you squint at it. But yeah, leaving out everything except Jackson Hole is just lazy design. Probably thought nobody would actually zoom in on it.

That whole surveyor mistake is actually a great example of how we just accept imperfect stuff in our daily lives without thinking about it. Like how every gas station in Wyoming has that little notch in the bottom border on their maps and nobody cares because it's close enough. Parker_foster53 mentioned it being off by a mile or two which is wild when you think about how precise we expect everything else to be these days. Same way people will use a blurry photo of a hamburger for a restaurant menu because the food tastes fine even though the picture looks terrible. We're all just walking around with slightly wrong maps in our heads and calling it good enough.
