A guy in a 2011 forum thread told me podcasts would never last because nobody wants to listen to people talk, and now I think about him every time I finish a 2 hour episode
I was digging through an old tech forum from 2011 and this one commenter with like 4,000 posts kept saying audio shows were a fad because people need visuals, and he got upvoted a ton for it. I remembered him because I just finished a 2 hour podcast on my drive to see my parents in Ohio, and it made me wonder how many other confident takes from that era are just sitting there waiting to look silly. What's the one old prediction you keep coming back to because it was so sure of itself?
