Hot off the press: a 1994 magazine that said we'd all have jetpacks by now

I was cleaning out my dad's garage last month and dug up a 1994 Popular Mechanics issue that predicted personal jetpacks for daily commutes by 2020. The article even had a diagram of a guy strapping one on outside his office like it was a briefcase. Meanwhile I can barely get my smart speaker to play the right playlist, let alone fly to work.
