Old Wired magazine article said we'd all have robot butlers by 2020
Found a 2008 Wired article in my dad's basement claiming we'd all have humanoid robot butlers handling chores by now lmao. I actually built most of my home automation around that prediction and ended up with a janky Roomba that bumps into walls. Has anyone else wasted money chasing some old tech prediction that never happened?

Friend of mine dropped $3,000 on a Samsung smart fridge in 2016 because he thought robots would be taking grocery orders by now. It just sends him memes about expired milk.

Read somewhere that those old predictions were based on Japanese robotics conferences where they always showed off the perfect vacuuming robot that never actually made it to market. Guess we're still waiting on that one too.
