That 2009 article claiming Netflix would never replace Blockbuster
Found an old blog post from 2009 where a guy said Blockbuster would survive because people like browsing aisles. I was at my dad's house cleaning out his office and we both had a good laugh. We counted 6 Blockbuster closures within a 10 mile radius of his town in Ohio. Anyone else keep a folder of these old predictions just for the laughs?

It was actually 2000 not 2009 for the Netflix buyout offer.

Save a PDF of that post and date it. I do this for old tech takes I find on Wayback Machine. Blockbuster had a chance if they bought Netflix for 50 million in 2000 like they were offered. Instead they doubled down on late fees and those stupid candy aisle expansions. Always good to keep receipts from 2009 to remind yourself how wrong smart people can be.
