Waste of money buying a $300 graphing calculator in 2022 when phone apps do it for free
I dropped $300 on a TI-84 Plus CE for my daughter's algebra class two years ago. Now she just uses a free app called Desmos on her phone and it works better. Anyone else regret buying one of these after smartphones made them obsolete?

Man I bought one too and now it's just a VERY expensive paperweight on my desk.

Right, so the real trick here is you can resell those TI-84s for surprisingly good money on eBay or Facebook Marketplace because schools still require them for standardized tests. I sold my daughter's old one last year for $180 to a parent whose kid needed one for the ACT, and that pretty much covered the cost of a nice pair of sneakers she actually wanted. Just make sure to factory reset it and wipe off any stickers before you list it.
