Watched a 1996 news clip predict we'd all buy groceries through our TVs by 2005, so I tried it for a week
There's an old CNN segment from 1996 where a guy swears the mall would be dead by 2005 because everyone would order everything through their TV. I found it while digging through archive footage and decided to actually try it for 7 days. Turns out you can't buy milk through a TV, but I did order a $40 shelf from Amazon using my phone while the TV played, so I guess I sort of did it. Anyway, the mall near me in Dayton still has a Sears sign up, so who really won here?
