Had a chat with an old electrician that changed my mind about wire nuts
Talked to my buddy Frank last Saturday. He does commercial work, 25 years in. Told me he's seen wire nuts fail in attics more times than he can count. Said he switched to Wago lever nuts after a fire call in Cleveland. Now I'm thinking maybe I should ditch the twist-on style too. Anyone else make the switch and feel better about it?

Seen wire nuts fail in attics more times than he can count" lmao Ive seen em melt in old lamp fixtures too.

Oh yeah, you ever pull a wire nut off a ceiling fan and find it's just a little pile of black dust? Had one go up in smoke in an old dining room fixture myself.
