Just realized my multimeter continuity trick beats tracing wires by eye
I spent 3 hours under the dash of my truck in the driveway chasing a short in the trailer lights and got nowhere squinting at the harness. My neighbor Dale walked over with his $22 meter, clipped one lead to the fuse block and poked the other end at each pin until it beeped, found the bad ground in under 5 minutes. I always thought continuity mode was just for checking fuses, but it saved me from ripping the whole loom apart. Anyone else keep a junk wire harness around just to practice beeping through it?

Did you grab a cheap meter after that or stick with Dale's? I always figured continuity was just a fuse checker too, but hearing how fast it found your bad ground makes me want to try it on my own mess.
