The ceiling fan light that took me 90 minutes to wire

I decided to swap out an old ceiling fan light kit last Saturday. Got it all hooked up, flipped the switch, and nothing happened. Turned out I spent 45 minutes rechecking my connections before I realized I'd forgotten to put the bulbs back in. Had the glass covers on tight and everything. Anyone else ever troubleshoot a problem that was way dumber than you thought?

Oh man, I've been there. Pro tip: always screw in a bulb first before you even start. I keep a spare 60 watt in my pocket for just this reason. Also, next time flip the switch on before you put the glass on. That way you'll know right away if it's dead. Learned that one the hard way after taking a fan apart three times for a loose wire that wasn't even loose.

@mason.anna that pocket bulb trick is actually genius... I keep a voltage tester in my tool bag but never thought about carrying a bulb just for testing. The real head-scratcher for me was spending 20 minutes trying to figure out why the fan wobbled so bad, turned out I had the mounting bracket upside down. Sometimes the simplest stuff trips you up the most.
