The day I caught a breaker on fire and also landed a $2k job

Last Tuesday was peak chaos for me. I was swapping out an old fuse box in a rental duplex on Elm Street, and one of the wires had insulation so cracked it basically disintegrated the second I touched it. Before I could even cut power, there was this pop and a little flame shot out of the breaker, singed my work glove. I spent the next hour rewiring that whole panel with fresh breakers, sweating like crazy, and my phone kept buzzing with a client who wanted a quote on a restaurant installation. By 5pm I had the duplex safe and tested, but I also drove over and gave that restaurant estimate in my dirty shirt, which somehow landed me a $2k job starting next week. So, is it normal for a total disaster day to turn into your best sales day, or does that just mean I need to stop rushing the inspection part? Anyone else have a day where the worst wiring mistake basically paid for itself?
