My grandma's old trick for cutting butter into flour with a cheese grater actually fixed my pie crust
I was fighting with a dry, crumbly pie dough for months and tried everything from freezing the butter harder to adding more water. My grandma, who baked on a farm in Iowa for 40 years, told me to freeze the butter and grate it on a box grater instead of cutting it with a pastry blender. Now my crust comes out flaky every time, but I wonder if anyone else still does this or if there's a better way.
