My mixer started smoking during a big wedding cake order last Friday

I was in my kitchen in Austin, and the motor just gave out with 15 pounds of buttercream left to whip. I had to run to a friend's shop and finish it all by hand. Anyone ever have a major tool fail mid-job?

How did you even manage to finish by hand? That sounds so stressful.

Remember my buddy whose oven died right before a huge catering gig? Total nightmare.
