My stand mixer tried to walk off the counter during a triple batch of cookie dough
I was making a triple batch of chocolate chip cookies last Sunday for a bake sale, and I pushed my KitchenAid a little too hard. About 3 minutes into kneading the dough, the whole thing started shaking and hopping across the counter like it was possessed. I had to grab the top with one hand and scoop out half the dough with the other to stop the vibration. Ended up finishing the batch by hand kneading on the counter, which took forever and left my arms sore. Has anyone else had their mixer go rogue on a heavy batch like that?

My second batch last year did the same exact thing and it made me realize how often we try to cram way too much into something and expect it to work perfectly, just like that old KitchenAid commercial from the '90s showed five cups of flour like it was nothing. @ivangrant nailed it about those warning stickers, we all ignore them and then act surprised when things break.

Pretty sure the pro model comes with a warning sticker about not going over 4 cups of flour on the lower speeds. Ignoring that is a sure way to watch a mixer try to yeet itself off a counter.
