Showerthought: I tried adding a full cup of extra sugar to my basic cookie dough.

I thought it would make them super chewy, but they spread out thin and burned on the edges after 12 minutes. Has anyone else had a sweetener experiment go totally sideways?

Yeah the "spread out thin and burned" part, I used to think more sugar just meant more chew. Turns out it messes with the whole structure, makes it runny before it sets. Learned that the hard way too.
