Been using a 000 blade for my bald fades for years. A client in Tacoma changed my mind.

He had really coarse hair and my usual method left a visible line. I switched to a 0.5 guard on a detachable blade clipper for the initial guide line. The blend was way smoother, no more harsh jump. Anyone else find a specific tool works better for certain hair types?

Remember when we all swore by thinning shears for everything? Felt like cheating until I saw the damage on some fine hair.

My stylist still uses them on my fine hair, no damage at all. Guess it's more about the hand holding them, @dixon.daniel.

Yeah, that makes total sense. Coarse hair just needs a softer start sometimes. The right tool for the job changes everything.
