Client said my fades looked 'choppy' from the side, took me 2 weeks to see it

Some guy in his 40s sat down and pointed out the transition looked like stair steps when he turned his head. I started checking the fade from 3 different angles before finishing and it fixed the whole shape. Anyone else find themselves stuck looking straight on only?
