Hit my first clean fade on a tough customer after 8 months of messing up

I've been fighting with a guy who has a weird cowlick right at the parietal ridge for months, and last Tuesday it finally clicked that I was going against the grain instead of following it. He made a comment about how it looked like I was trying to fight his hair, which stung but made me realize I needed to adjust my clipper angle. Has anyone else had a specific client that forced you to relearn a basic technique?

42 years in the trades has taught me that fighting the grain never works, in hair or life.

Did you catch that Barber Visuals guy on Insta talk about matching the natural growth pattern?
