I get more creative with shears than with clippers on most cuts

Most barbers in my area use clippers for nearly every style to save time. I prefer shears because they let me shape hair with more freedom and detail. What's your method for adding personal flair to a standard trim?

I totally get it, I used to think clippers were only for a basic buzz cut. My barber showed me how he uses them for most of a cut now, just finishing with scissors, and it really does speed things up without losing quality.
