Just dropped $150 on a pair of Japanese shears and honestly not sure it was worth it

I bought a set of Mizutani scissors last month after my old ones started chipping and figured spending big would pay off in the long run. They cut great for about two weeks but now they feel duller than my $40 pair I had before, and I'm wondering if I just got a bad set or if the hype is overblown. Anyone else regret splurging on high end shears or am I doing something wrong with maintenance?

Tbh you probably got a bad set. High end shears shouldn't go dull that fast.

My friend bought a pair from that brand and they lasted her five years, @stellat87.
