Rant: my clipper died mid-fade in front of a full chair on Saturday

I was in the middle of a skin fade on a regular at my station in Austin, 3 clients waiting, and my Wahl Magic Clip just seized up. The motor sounded like grinding gravel for maybe 2 seconds before it stopped completely. I had to switch to my old corded clipper mid-section, which changed the blend line, so I had to redo the whole left side from scratch. Luckily the guy was chill about it, but I lost 20 minutes and had to squeeze in a walk-in later. Has anyone else had a clipper die at the worst possible moment and what did you do to recover the schedule?

Three clients waiting and it died mid-fade? That's brutal, man. I had a cordless knockoff give out on me once during a buzz cut but not with that many people staring at me. The fact you had to switch to your old corded one and basically restart the whole left side sounds like my worst nightmare. How do you even keep your cool when the blend line gets messed up like that? I'd be sweating bullets trying to fix it fast enough to not lose the walk-in. Did you end up doing the redo free or just fold it into the regular's usual price?
