Spent 45 minutes chasing a phantom bald spot that was just a reflection from the mirror

I was doing a skin fade on this dude yesterday and kept seeing this little patch that looked bare on his crown. I kept going back with my trimmers trying to blend it in and it just got worse. After like 20 minutes of frustration I finally realized it was the overhead light bouncing off the chrome base of my barber chair. My customer was cool about it but man I felt like an idiot. Has anyone else had a mirror or light trick mess with their eyes mid-cut?

Did you try moving your chair or changing the light angle to see if it was a reflection?

Yeah honestly that's a good thought. I probably should have tried that before I wrote my whole rant about how broken everything is. Sorry you had to deal with that whole mess too.
