Spent two hours trying to blend a stubborn cowlick on a client yesterday

It was on the crown, and I must have gone over it with thinning shears a dozen times before it finally laid flat. What's your go-to method for dealing with really persistent ones?

Thinning shears can actually make a cowlick more stubborn by removing the weight it needs to lay down. I use point cutting into the very base of the growth pattern with my regular shears. That usually gets it to relax without over-thinning the area.

That's a solid point from @nora86. It's like how the quick fix often makes the real problem worse later on.
