Tried a foldable comb attachment for my clippers, big mistake on thick hair

Last week I bought one of those foldable comb attachments thinking it would speed up my fades. Put it on my Wahl clippers and tried it on a regular client with thick curly hair. The thing snagged every few strokes, pulled his hair, and left a patchy mess I had to fix with my freehand work. Took me 45 extra minutes to correct what should have been a 20 minute cut. Has anyone else ditched gimmicks like that and just stuck with the basics?

Fixing that mess with freehand work just proves the tools you already know beat the shiny new ones every time. It’s the same with all sorts of stuff, not just clippers. People buy gadgets to save time and they end up wasting more of it figuring out how to work around the gadget. I see it with kitchen tools too, folks buy some fancy slicer and then go back to a plain knife because it just works. Stick with what you’ve practiced a hundred times, that’s where the real speed lives.
