Why does nobody talk about clipper blades wearing out mid haircut

I was halfway through a fade on Tuesday and my clipper started pulling instead of cutting clean. That awful snagging sound. The blade was only 3 months old but I guess I was not oiling it enough between clients. Had to switch to my backup clipper and finish the cut while the guy kept asking if everything was okay. Has anyone else had a blade go bad right in the middle of a busy day?

Buddy of mine had a Wahl blade lock up mid-fade on prom night... brutal.

Gonna have to disagree hard here, @olivia573. A pro knows how to maintain their gear and has backup blades ready to swap in thirty seconds flat. Your buddy messed up by not checking the oil or running a dirty blade, that's on him not the tool. Wahl makes solid clippers that last years if you clean and lube them after every few cuts. Prom night panic is exactly why you do a test run on the clippers an hour before the client sits down. Blaming the blade lock up is like blaming your car for running out of gas.
