I grabbed a beat up Logitech Trackman at a flea market in Reno for $3 about 6 months ago and mostly used it as a paperweight since the ball felt gritty and the buttons stuck. Last week a guy at the counter of my local computer shop watched me complain about wrist pain and said "clean the rollers with a fingernail, dummy, they gunk up every few weeks" so I popped the ball out, scraped off two little gray rings of fuzz, and now it tracks smooth as anything. Does anyone else here actually do the roller cleaning thing on old trackballs or do you just live with the crunch?
