I was totally shocked to learn Aaron Franklin actually uses a $30 kettle grill for his whole demo setup

So last weekend my neighbor dragged me to this BBQ class at a park in Austin, and the guy teaching it mentioned that Aaron Franklin does most of his outdoor demos on a regular Weber kettle, not some $5,000 offset smoker. I kept asking him to repeat it because I thought he was joking. Turns out the man himself said in a YouTube interview that he likes showing off basic temp control before moving to the expensive gear. Has anyone else caught him doing this on a cheap grill?

Nah man, a Weber kettle isn't that cheap once you factor in mods.
