My offset smoker firebox door warped after 4 years of heavy use

Last weekend in Nashville I fired up my offset for a brisket cook and the firebox door wouldn't close flush anymore. It warped so bad there was a half inch gap at the top, and I lost heat control all night. I tried bending it back with vice grips but that only made it worse. Ended up finishing the cook with a wet towel shoved in the gap, which worked okay but felt sketchy. Anyone else had a firebox door warp on them, and did you replace it or get a whole new smoker?
