Serious question, did anyone else get burned by that fancy pellet smoker that the YT guy swore by?
I spent $800 on that SmokeKing Pro last spring after watching some pitmaster dude rave about it for three videos, and after 5 briskets came out tasting like a campfire I went back to my beat up Weber kettle and realized the old-school charcoal flavor was legit all along, has anyone else wasted money on a gadget that looked perfect online but flopped in real life?

That's the thing with pellet smokers, they seem so foolproof on video but the reality is a lot of trial and error with airflow and pellet quality. What specifically did the SmokeKing do wrong with your briskets? Was it just the smoke taste being too harsh, or did it struggle to hold temp steady through a long cook? I'm curious because I almost bought one after seeing those same videos, but the comments section on his last review was full of people saying it ran way hotter than the display showed. Did you ever reach out to their customer service or did you just give up after the fifth brisket?
