Hot take: everyone loves that dust removal trick with compressed air but I think it's overrated

I was at a buddy's garage last week helping him wire up a new lighting setup, and he kept raving about using a can of compressed air to clean his drill bits. Said it was the best thing since sliced bread. But in my experience, those cans are expensive for what they do, like 8 bucks for maybe 5 minutes of real use. Plus they can freeze your skin if you angle it wrong, trust me that stings for a while. Meanwhile I just use a cheap wire brush and a rag, takes maybe 10 seconds and costs nothing. Has anyone else found a simpler way to clean tools that works better than the fancy spray cans?

Huh, I actually find compressed air really handy for electronics and tight spots.

You know what, you're right. I used to think compressed air was just a waste of money compared to a quick blow with my mouth or a vacuum. But a friend convinced me to try it on a dusty laptop keyboard and I was totally sold. It gets into those tiny gaps between keys way better than anything else I've tried. Now I keep a can around for cleaning out my desktop case and hard-to-reach spots around the house. It's one of those things that seems silly until you actually need it.
