Overheard a guy at a dog park say he only reads headlines, not the articles
Last Tuesday at Riverside Park, some dude in a polo said he just scans the title and moves on, which explains a lot about how people miss the real story behind most links, but does anyone else actually click through to the source before sharing?

Fair point, but headlines are usually written to grab attention not give the full picture. Skimming one line and running with it is how half the internet fights break out over stuff that never happened. Clicking through takes ten seconds and saves you the embarrassment of being that guy at the dog park.

Guy's probably the same person who rates movies based only on the poster, then argues the plot made no sense. Ten seconds of reading and he could've avoided becoming the cautionary tale of the dog park. Saves everyone else the entertainment of watching him double down on something he didn't even read about.
