Spent 6 hours trying to fix a DNS issue that turned out to be a typo in a config file

I was trying to get a self-hosted service running on a domain I bought off Namecheap. Spent all Saturday afternoon checking propagation, flushing caches, calling my ISP. Turns out I wrote "exmaple.com" instead of "example.com" in the Apache config. Has anyone else lost a whole afternoon to a single missing letter?

Ugh, I read somewhere this happens to like EVERYONE at least once. So painful.

Cold water rinse as soon as it happens, then ice cube on it for like ten minutes. That cuts down the swelling big time. I keep aloe vera gel in the fridge for the next day when the heat sets in. Neosporin at night so it doesn't get infected. Worked like a charm the last time I got tagged.
