Stumbled on a hidden trail in Muir Woods that wasn't on any map

I was wandering off the main boardwalk last Saturday and found this narrow path behind a fallen redwood that led to a tiny creek with zero crowds. Has anyone else found cool secret spots in national parks that the guides don't mention?

Lol congrats you found the one spot in Muir Woods that isn't a selfie minefield. I'd probably trip over that fallen redwood and end up as the main attraction.

Counter that with the fact that every single person in those photos is probably blocking the trail for 20 minutes trying to get the perfect angle. Sure, the fallen redwood might not be insta-worthy, but at least you can actually stand there and breathe without someone's drone buzzing your head. The main trails are basically a human traffic jam where you see more phones than trees, so honestly the "boring" spots are the only ones worth hitting. You say trip and become the attraction, I say that's the only way to get people to actually look up from their screens. Plus, if you fall, at least you got a story out of it instead of the same filtered pic everyone else has.
