That $200 "smart" compost bin was a total scam

I bought the Lomi machine off a Kickstarter ad last year thinking it'd be a game changer for my kitchen waste. After 3 months the motor seized up grinding coffee grounds and avocado pits. Customer service wanted $80 just to diagnose it plus shipping to Oregon. I'm back to just tossing scraps in my backyard pile and saving $200 honestly feels bad.

Honestly that "maybe you just got a dud" line always gets me. I feel your pain though, I really do. Tbh I think these companies rush stuff out without testing it properly and we end up being the testers. I was so hyped when I backed mine and it felt like a total rip when it broke. At least you've got the backyard pile going, that's way more reliable anyway. Ngl the whole experience just made me trust Kickstarter even less than I already did.
