TIL I was copying links wrong my whole life, all because of a Reddit comment about a 2008 article
For 2 years I was grabbing the full URL from my browser bar, then pasting it into a notes app and trimming the tracking junk by hand before posting. A guy in a thread about a 2008 news article mentioned he just right-clicks and hits copy link at the headline, and it gives you the clean version with no extra tags. I tried it on some random blog post and the link came out half the length, no ?utm stuff, no share codes. Doing it by hand probably ate 10 minutes a day and I still missed stuff. Does the right-click trick work on mobile browsers too or am I stuck with the share sheet over there?
