Was dead set against cloud backups until a hard drive crash last month convinced me otherwise

I spent years telling everyone that external hard drives were good enough and cloud stuff was a scam. Then my 2TB Seagate started clicking one morning and I lost 4 years of wedding photos and client files. My buddy who runs a small IT shop showed me how Backblaze worked and I had everything restored in about 6 hours for $7 a month. Has anyone else had a drive die on them and switch sides on this?
