I finally get why people love that awful MIDI cover song
My buddy kept sending me this track from the early 2000s, some eurodance thing with a drum machine that sounds like a toddler banging on a keyboard. I rolled my eyes every time. Then he played it at his birthday party last month and somehow the whole room was singing along to these nonsense lyrics about 'laser dolphins' or whatever. I started laughing so hard I almost choked on my cake. There's this one part where the beat just drops out for three seconds and comes back wrong, off tempo, and it's honestly the best part. I've listened to it like 12 times since. Has anyone else had that moment where a bad song suddenly clicks and you can't stop playing it?

The off tempo drop is the song admitting it's broken, that's why it works.
