Just realized I've owned the same Casio SK-1 keyboard for 20 years now

Picked it up at a thrift store in Tulsa back in 2004 for like 15 bucks, and it still makes those awful tinny drum sounds that somehow slap harder than most modern stuff. Last night I counted the tiny built-in songs and hit 10 cheesy demo tracks that sound like a robot having a meltdown. Anyone else still holding onto a piece of gear that's objectively bad but you can't let go?

Twenty years is a good run. I've still got an old Yamaha PSS-480 that sounds like a bad Casio knockoff. Got it at a pawn shop in 2007 for twenty bucks. @brooke533 you're not wrong that bad gear is bad gear, but there's something about that cheap plastic feel and those preset rhythms that just work for messing around. My Yamaha's got a "Rock 1" preset that still sounds like someone dropping a box of forks down the stairs. Can't bring myself to toss it.

Nah, bad gear is bad gear, I'd rather save for something that doesn't sound like a toy.
