My beat up tape deck ate a mixtape and made a better song than the original
Last Tuesday my old tape deck in the garage chewed up a copy of a 90s dance mixtape I got at a garage sale for a buck. I was about to toss it, but the tape got pulled up at a weird angle and started dragging, so the pitch dropped and the drums turned into this slow underwater thump. I let it run for 20 seconds and honestly it sounded better than the real track, so now I keep a junk tape around just to stretch and warp on purpose. Has anyone else messed with a tape deck to get that sludgy slow sound, or am I the only one ruining my own music on purpose?
